Stability AI just announced that legendary filmmaker and tech innovator James Cameron has joined its Board of Directors. The news came from Stability AI’s CEO, Prem Akkaraju.
Cameron, known for iconic films like The Terminator, Titanic, and Avatar, has always been ahead of the curve in using cutting-edge technology for storytelling. Now, he’s diving into the world of generative AI and CGI image creation, which he sees as the future of visual storytelling.
“I’ve always been about pushing boundaries, and this mix of AI and CGI is the next big thing,” Cameron said. “It’s going to open up whole new ways for artists to tell stories we’ve never even thought of.”
Akkaraju echoed this, saying, “James lives in the future and waits for us to catch up. Stability AI aims to revolutionize visual media with a full AI pipeline for creators.”
Cameron will join other new board members, including entrepreneur Sean Parker and leaders from Greycroft and Coatue Management.
