Honestly, ComfyUI is doing our AI what Blender did for 3D art. It’s free and and it’s available in GitHub. Everyone can download it and start working on it.
So Why the appreciation post? Right now a lot of AI websites are charging for everything. Basically 99% of AI websites are out there are charging for everything.
So for those who don’t know what is even ComfyUI. It is a free open source tool that’s kind of like node based setup similar to Blender or Nuke.
You want a high resolution images that will cost you. You want more generation credits, you need to pay up little bit more. You want to edit or customize anything. You have to upgrade your plan.
Some of these tools can easily cost ₹1,500 to ₹5,000 a month. And honestly? That adds up fast.
But with ComfyUI?

There couple of caveats are you need a high config computer and a little bit of learning curve. But considering investing in those things, it may reap benefit in the future. In Comfyui there is no subscriptions and no you run out of credit messages.
Just like Blender, Comfyui has this awesome community vibe. People are building custom nodes, custom workflows and help each other figuring stuff out.
Also You can download latest models, latest workflows and you can see other artists workflows. You can create your own custom notes, you can even animate stuff and use your own images and train the own models. Using Lora, using ComfyUI feels a little bit different. You’re not just typing a prompt and hoping AI gets it right.
You are building a whole process step by step, tweaking it until it looks exactly how you want. That kind of control you won’t get in any other websites because it usually take what you get or pay more. This is why I keep saying it’s a blender for AI. Blender didn’t become popular because just for free. It became popular because it gave people real tools and didn’t hold anything back that exactly.
Comfyui is the blender of AI. And just like Blender, I hope it’s gonna stick around for a long time.
