Cinesite has started a new team called TechX to explore how Generative AI can help the VFX and animation industry. The goal is to test and create new AI tools that support artists, developers, and producers in visual effects, animation, and immersive content.
“Even though there are still many questions about how AI should be used, we believe it’s important to explore how it can support the creative process,” said Michele Sciolette, Chief Technology Officer at Cinesite. “Our team has years of experience creating top-level visuals, and we’re in a great position to work with studios, filmmakers, and tech partners to find smart ways to use AI.”
TechX will work separately from Cinesite’s regular shows and use its own computer systems. The team will report to Michele Sciolette and get advice from Cinesite’s new AI Advisory Council. This council includes creative and technical experts from across the company. They will help guide TechX and make sure that any AI tools are developed in a safe, fair, and respectful way.
