Adobe Gives a First Look at Firefly AI Video

Adobe just revealed an exciting glimpse of its new Firefly AI video mode, set to hit Premiere Pro in beta later this year.

In a recent blog post, the company mentioned that they’ve been working closely “with the video editing community” to refine the model, incorporating feedback from users to push its capabilities further.

Since the launch of Adobe Firefly in March 2023, the creative community has generated over 12 billion images and vectors using the platform. Now, Adobe is aiming to bring that same power to video, but how the Firefly Video Model stacks up against competitors like Sora and Runway is still up for debate.

  • One standout feature of the Firefly Video Model is its ability to generate atmospheric elements like fire, smoke, dust particles, and water, perfect for VFX shots on black or green screens.

The text-to-video function allows users to generate seamless B-roll footage by simply typing out a few prompts.

Adobe has also integrated rich camera controls, giving editors the ability to adjust angles, motion, and zoom for the perfect shot in just under two minutes.

The model also features Image-to-Video conversion, where users can transform still images or illustrations into dynamic live-action clips, giving a new level of creative flexibility to VFX artists.

With the introduction of Firefly AI for video, Adobe is stepping up its game in the rapidly evolving world of VFX and AI-driven video editing.
