Thiruvananthapuram is set to become the global hub for animation, visual effects, gaming, and extended reality (AVGC XR) as it hosts the AniMela-AMS Festival 2025 from March 6 to 9. This landmark event is backed by strategic support from the prestigious Annecy International Film Festival, promising a world-class platform for industry networking, knowledge exchange, and exploration of cutting-edge technologies.
A collaboration between Aniverse and Visual Arts Foundation (AVAF) and Toonz Media Group, the festival merges two iconic events: AniMela, a rising star in India’s animation and gaming scene since its launch two years ago, and the Animation Masters Summit (AMS), a cornerstone of the animation world since 1999.
The festival is expected to draw over 8,000 attendees to Kerala’s capital and will feature an impressive lineup of activities:
- Knowledge Centres: Panels, workshops, and talks led by global industry leaders.
- Experiential Zones: Interactive spaces showcasing the latest in animation, VFX gaming, and XR technologies.
- Film Screenings: A curated collection of animated films from India and around the world.
- Networking Opportunities: A unique space for students, professionals, and policymakers to connect and collaborate.
With its rich blend of global and Indian talent, the AniMela-AMS Festival 2025 is poised to put Kerala on the map as a leading destination for the AVGC XR industry.
