Tippett Studio Appoints Christina Wise as VP of Business Development

Tippett Studio, the acclaimed animation and visual effects production company founded by Oscar-winning filmmaker Phil Tippett, has announced the appointment of Christina Wise as Vice President of Business Development. Wise, a seasoned entertainment executive with over 25 years of experience, will report directly to Tippett CEO Gary Mundell.

Wise began her career in live entertainment at Cirque du Soleil, before transitioning to feature film production at Warp Films and New Regency where she worked on titles like “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” and “Jumper.” This led to a passion for visual effects, resulting in roles at prominent VFX houses such as MPC, BUF, and MELS Studios in Montreal. Her impressive VFX portfolio includes work on Oscar-winning films like “Blade Runner 2049” and “1917,” as well as popular series like “Wednesday,” “Dopesick,” and “The Nevers.”

“I am very pleased to join the marquee talent at Tippett Studio where I will work with a dedicated team of pioneering visual artists at the highest level of technical achievement,” Wise stated to Deadline. “The legendary work of Phil Tippett and his studio are the perfect example of technicians who push the envelope of our craft and bring audiences into new worlds.”

Tippett Studio, renowned for its cutting-edge visual effects and animation, has recently contributed to projects such as “Alien: Romulus” for 20th Century Studios, Disney+’s “The Book of Boba Fett,” “The Mandalorian,” “Skeleton Crew,” and “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” as well as Netflix’s “Locke and Key.” Founded by Phil Tippett, a VFX pioneer known for iconic creations including the dinosaurs in “Jurassic Park,” Jabba the Hutt, and the Rancor Monster in “Return of the Jedi,” the studio continues to push the boundaries of visual storytelling.

This announcement follows news earlier this year that Indian VFX studio PhantomFX is in the process of acquiring a majority stake in Tippett Studio.
