Epic Games just announced they’re launching a new digital content marketplace called Fab, set to go live in mid-October 2024.
Fab is bringing together their existing platforms—Unreal Engine Marketplace, Sketchfab, ArtStation Marketplace, and Quixel—into one big space where creators can buy, sell, and share assets across different industries.
It’ll support multiple engines, including Unreal Engine, Unity, and more, with an 88/12 revenue split for creators.
The Unreal Engine Marketplace will be fully replaced by Fab, and all existing products will be moved over, gaining new licensing options and cool real-time 3D previews.
Sketchfab’s content will also be available on Fab, but Sketchfab.com will still host 3D models like usual. Quixel Megascans will also make the jump, with most assets staying free until the end of 2024, after which they’ll introduce some paid options.
ArtStation Marketplace will be integrated into Fab in 2025, but ArtStation itself will still focus on portfolios and helping artists grow.
